I often get asked by prospective clients, "Why do clients choose to work with you?" and I thought it a good time to share a bit more about me and my journey.
Born in Germany, I've always had a curiosity to discover the world. My adventures took me to the UK to study, backpacking around the world for a year, work in France & Malta, and eventually back to the UK (at least for now). Each place enriching my perspective and experiences.
Before starting my own coaching and consulting business, I spent 15 years in finance, working for large institutions and many years in hedge fund fundraising. This background makes my coaching particularly relevant for those in high-stakes, high-pressure environments. As a coach and trainer, I don't need to be an industry expert, but my clients value the fact that I understand their world. Having walked in their shoes, I can relate to the challenges they face and, when relevant, provide insights grounded in real-world experience. My approach is honest and supportive, and I love to laugh with my clients.
Having lived in four countries and speaking four languages, I bring a broad perspective and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures. This cross-cultural experience is invaluable, especially when working with international clients or those operating in global markets.
I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs who ran engineering business. This taught me the rewards and challenges of running a business, the values of hard work, innovation, and the entrepreneurial spirit , all of which I bring into my coaching.
It was my boys who gave me the courage to start my own business. When my second son was born, our lives were turned upside down, and we spent much time in the hospital. This challenging period prompted deep soul-searching.
During this time, I met a wonderful coach, Emily Lomax, who inspired me to consider a career in coaching. Soon after, I signed up for a professional coaching diploma.
With a passion for people and psychology that had been with me since I left school, it felt like the perfect step. As I was on a mission, I also decided to also train as a swim teacher- swimming is a sport I have always loved. Teaching swimming is a great mental balance for me, brings me immense joy and taught me a lot (more on this soon). It made me a better swimmer and coach.
After completing my certifications, I realised it was time to take a leap of faith and fulfil my dream of owning my own business. It was a jump in the deep end, but I don’t regret a minute of it.
Today, I work as a coach with founders, leaders, and their teams, helping them navigate change successfully. Throughout my life and career, I have navigated numerous changes. My career in finance required me to adapt and transition multiple times, and I've experienced being lost and finding my way again. Whether it's a career shift, a new role, or a personal internal transition, I understand the complexities and emotions involved.
My own experiences have equipped me with the empathy and insight needed to guide others through their own changes. I wish I had the knowledge I have now during those times, which fuels my passion to help my clients make their transitions smoother, even embracing them as opportunities to thrive and find clarity and direction.
As a coach, I work best with ambitious leaders, emerging leaders, founders, and their teams who have the courage to be vulnerable and are willing to dig deep. My ideal clients are committed to their personal and professional growth and are ready to explore new perspectives and challenge themselves. They understand that true transformation requires honesty, openness, and a willingness to step out of their comfort zones.
I am deeply passionate about my work and excited to continue building my business. I strongly believe we all have the power to redefine our boundaries and achieve more than we ever thought possible. This fuels my passion for my work.
I am profoundly grateful for the support I have had along the way from my husband, family, friends, amazing clients, and colleagues, without them I could never have come that far.
If you’re looking to explore what else you can do and are ready to push your boundaries, I would love to hear from you.
